The NODE (Netherlands
Organisation of First Aid Instructors) was originally founded in 1956
as a committee within the Dutch National Association for Life Saving
and First Aid "Het Oranje Kruis". Very quickly this committee became
a full scale organisation and was eventually registered as an independent
society in 1985. It changed it's name to the present one in 1997, mainly
because the present society want's to include everybody involved in
First Aid training, not just the instructors. The principal aim of the
society is to provide additional training for our members and also to
train new instructors. The society is actively involved with the modernisation
of First Aid training in the Netherlands including the Dutch territories
in the Caribbean.
